Addiction Recovery and H. Honeycup
Addiction has affected our family like so many others and this year we began donating body care products to recovery centers. Our hope is that we can encourage women to heal both body and mind naturally.
Recovery is an ongoing and emotional journey for individuals, their friends and family. There is so much about addiction that people who haven’t experienced it don’t understand. It’s hard to even articulate. Maybe another time.
Those in recovery are working to treat their bodies with respect. There is a sincere effort to live a healthier lifestyle. In the smallest way we try to put a smile on their faces and reassure them that the body care we give them is made with ingredients that are healthy and natural.
We’ll keep you posted on our activities. Please email us if you know of a center that could benefit from natural skincare. We’re also open to your ideas on how else we can help those in recovery. Thank you.

Why is this important to the beauty community? Since the laws related to ingredient safety in the US are limited, validation from an established third party matters. You are witnessing a safe beauty movement.
Upcycling creates less trash by reusing and transforming the containers and other things you already have. Brilliant! The examples below save you money and if your items are biodegradable at least they don’t end up floating in the ocean.
- use old fabric and towels as drop cloths or rags
- reuse paper in packages you receive for future packages you ship
- get a refill on liquid products
- repurpose skincare and cosmetic containers
Upcycling bottles, jars, paper tubesFirst try to get refills of your products so the original container lives on. Afterward remove the label from glass using rubbing alcohol, sterilize and use for countless things. The possibilities are endless.
- DIY skincare ingredients
- organize craft materials
- store tea or spices
- portable water spray
- a vase
- DIY bath oil blends
- row of vases
- travel size toiletries
- store sand from fave beach
Paperboard tubes (sanitize first)
- plant seeds
- use it as a little gift box
- battery candle holder
Have fun upcycling! You’ll love the feeling of helping the planet.
