HOW PAST STRUGGLES INFLUENCE MY JOURNEY
“Instead of NO, I hear YES”
Where do I find my motivation? It took a long time to see that motivation doesn’t come from what others do or say. It comes from inside of me. I began a list of “INSTEAD OF” beliefs after using self-care to decompress from my last job and the stress of a family member struggling with addiction.
The contrasting beliefs poured out of me once I adopted a new mindset. Self-care had a lot to do with it. I took some wellness courses including mindfulness. Then I started:
“The Beginning of Hope”
INSTEAD OF giving up, I opened my mind
INSTEAD OF struggling, I asked for help
INSTEAD OF waiting, I took the initiative
INSTEAD OF faltering, I rallied
Everything started falling into place once I began to rethink the possibilities from a new perspective. I knew I wanted a fresh start and I was the only one to make it happen. That’s when I found my inspiration. I was motivated from within and I accepted that my journey into the future meant embracing my past and growing from it.
Giving back
You can see how I incorporated past struggles into giving back and donating clean beauty products to sober living centers. It's so meaningful for me and my community to help others in their journey toward clean living.
More to come
There are many other parts I’ll share with you that led me to “Instead of NO, I hear YES.” Thank you for following my journey.
Everyone is different so how do you find your motivation?
