H. Honeycup has created a tribute label to sober living. Our family member has struggled with addiction and we have been part of that difficult experience. Our small way of giving back is to donate plant based skincare to recovery and sober living centers.

There are so many organizations we admire for their philosophy of giving. We decided to revisit these inspirational people and thank them for all they do for the community.

1. Don’t be fooled by the statement “all natural”

Many brands have been suspected of “greenwashing”. Since it’s becoming more important for many consumers to choose products that are healthy, brands have become clever in their marketing.

There is no official definition of “natural” skincare so be careful of these claims. Remember, the label reveals the true ingredients so always review the label. Ingredients are listed in descending order of concentration.

I used to be focused on the facts: black and white. Then after my corporate career, I discovered lots of other beautiful colors. The yellow that peace of mind can bring. The orange of relaxed confidence. All brought out through a commitment to self-care.  

I really wanted to help other women get excited about self-care by treating their bodies with respect. It needed to be something you could see AND feel. There were more colors out there for everyone to explore. You could close your eyes, smell and touch something beautiful. A guilt-free way to feel good about yourself. It was so simple and I knew everyone could do it!

The rebranding of our natural skincare company began in 2019. One key observation during the process was that our philosophy of giving wasn’t clear. Our “Take Care” brand story emerged as something important to represent. We had no idea how valued it would become given the circumstances that have developed in 2020.

We have selected a new look for H. Honeycup with the help of Fig Industries. Over the coming months all will be revealed including the why, the how, and the what! We are so excited to take you on this journey since your input and feedback went into this process. You are a reflection of who we are and who we want to be.

My own self-care gave me a purpose. Since our family member is in recovery from addiction, I decided to donate clean beauty products to different sober living centers. I ask those I know to suggest places and donate because of the personal connection.

Our skincare formulator and manufacturer is my husband, Kevin Parker. Read more about Kevin’s experience and what he likes to do when he’s not working.

Where do I find my motivation? It took a long time to see that motivation comes from inside of me. I began a list of “INSTEAD OF” beliefs after using self-care to decompress from my job and the stress of a family member struggling with addiction. It's so meaningful to help others in their journey toward clean living.
